I finally get settled into a new job, a new apartment. I find myself happier than I’ve been in a long time - I can finally afford to pay my bills and still have a bit left to play with, for the first time in two years.

Naturally life would fucking shit all over me as soon as I’m even remotely goddamned happy.

I’ve never been fired before. I suppose there’s a first time for everything.

I’ve also never been faced with such fucking uncertainty - of having NOTHING as a backup, of being so goddamned secure and happy walking in the door, and walking out feeling terrified that I’ll lose EVERYTHING I’ve been working so hard for.
